                           The Attack on Pearl Harbour

It was a nice day at Pearl Harbour. The radar was registering a huge wave of warplanes. The U.S. thought that it was their own. But they weren't, they were Japanese bomber and torpedo planes. They were going to do a surprise attack on Pearl Harbour . The Japanese had 6 aircraft carriers, 2 battleships, 2 heavy cruisers, 1 light cruiser, 9 destroyers, 8 tankers, 23 fleet submarines, 5 midget submarines and 414 aircraft.

The surprise started at night. The Japanese were disappointed to see that the aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, was not there. The Japanese sunk 4 battleships, 188 aircraft, and 2 other ships. They damaged 4 more battleships, 3 cruisers, 159 aircraft, 3 destroyers, and 3 other ships. 2,403 Americans were killed and 1178 were wounded. The Japanese had a few losses as well. Four of their midget submarines were sunk, 1 midget submarine was grounded, and 29 aircraft were destroyed. 64 Japanese were killed and 1 of their sailors was captured.

CheetahZoom

                                               CheetahZoom

Hello my name is CheetahZoom. I'm a grade 5 student who is homeschooled. If you  are having problems in school you could try homeschooling. It's great, you don't have to get up so early in the morning. It helps with my school work because at school if I didn't finish my school work the teachers would make me stay inside for recess. Then it was even worse for me because I have ADHD and I couldn't concentrate.

And if you guys want to check out my DIY account, here's the link https://diy.org/cheetahzoom
DIY is a website of projects for children. It means "do it yourself" and it's free. You guys can even follow me.  Following someone is like subscribing on youtube.

                                          King Leonidas

King Leonidas was a great king, but one day the Athenians
called to the Spartans becausethe Persians wanted to burn
their city to the ground but the  Spartans answered the
Athenians calls so the Spartans got ready for battle.
This is a sadstory because 300 and more  Spartans die,
              but the Persians losses werevengreaterthan10,000.
The story is called the Battle of Thermopylae or  the last stand of the 300 Spartans.
How the Spartans fight is that the Spartans line upand
put their shields in front of themselves. Each shield
overlaps one another and when the enemy forces into
them, the Spartans in the back reinforce the front. That
way they don’t move when the enemy moves back. The
Spartans put their right hands out with their shields, and
put their spears under or over your head. If you were in
the second row, you would put your spear above the first
row’s heads. If you were in the first row you would put
your spear under your shield and when the enemy moved
forward again, you would pull your spear back and thrust
the spear forward. But if you lost your spear you would
       use your sword.
A tragic end of the Spartans: the Persians came from
behind and King Leonidas got killed by a Persian arrow.
There was a big battle for Leonidas body. The Persian
arrows killed the rest of them.
